Description
France, Second Empire (1852–1870). Revolver with the ‘NOEL & GUEURY’ system, chambered for fulminate cartridges (known as a Rotovolver), eight-shot, circa 1865–70. Cal. 7 mm. Serial no. 181. All metal parts with a light grey patina and slight traces of oxidation, bearing the same number. Openwork frame with engraved foliage scrollwork. Flanged barrel. Traces of markings on either side of the band: “J.F. Gouéry Cant & Cte à Paris” and “Système A. Noël S.G.D.G.” in oval cartouches. Hammer on the right-hand side with swivel safety, flat cylinder with chamber perpendicular to the axis. Folding trigger guard. Black ebonite butt plates with fine checkering. Functional double-action mechanism. Complete. 22 cm (barrel 8.5 cm). (Signs of wear and minor cosmetic damage, not common, in fairly good condition).
