Description
France, Second Empire (1852–1870). LEFAUCHEUX spindle revolver, 1858 model. Calibre 10.7 mm. Serial number LF65814 (stamped on the right-hand side of the frame). All metal parts finely engraved with arabesques and scrolls, with a bronze finish. Octagonal barrel with front sight, the upper section monogrammed ‘A D’. Stock with smooth, varnished walnut grips and a faceted metal cap with a ring. Trigger guard with finger rest. Steel cleaning rod present. Single-action mechanism in working order with two distinct cocking notches and no play. The inside of the barrel is dirty with shallow rifling. Complete. 30 cm (barrel 16 cm). (Signs of wear and minor cosmetic flaws; revolver previously re-bronzed; in good condition).
