Description
France, Second Empire (1852–1870). LEFAUCHEUX-system officer’s pin-fire revolver, a civilian LEFAUCHEUX model based on the 1858 Navy model. Calibre 10.7 mm. Six-shot. Serial number "LF 110227" (stamped on the right side of the frame). All metal parts with a light grey patina and small spots in places. Round rifled barrel with a front sight mounted on a dovetail, the top marked "E. LEFAUCHEUX BRté S.G.D.G. A PARIS". Smooth cylinder. Smooth walnut stock plates and ring-shaped butt cap. Steel cleaning rod present. Functional single-action mechanism, with two distinct cocking notches and no play. Barrel interior dirty with surface oxidation and shallow scratches. Complete. 29.5 cm (barrel 15.5 cm). (wear and signs of use, fairly good condition).
