Colonial Administrator’s cap in accordance with the 1933 regulations, formerly owned by DILLIER PATAS.
It is fitted with a removable cap top in fine national blue cloth. Oval front badge embroidered in gold thread on a midnight blue background, featuring a crescent surmounted by a spread-out naval anchor, positioned in accordance with regulations ‘straddling’ the band and the crown, and attached (sewn) to the band. The headband is embroidered with interlaced oak and olive leaves in gold thread along part of the circumference, over a length of forty-one centimetres, and in its upper section, with two cords and a wolf’s tooth-shaped band in gold thread. Rigid visor in black leather edged with a black plastic band, the underside black. Chin strap in twisted gold braid with two sliders, fastened by two small gold buttons stamped with the body’s motif, a spread-leg anchor and a crescent. Inner cap in black satin with, at the back, a rectangular plastic insert protecting a woven fabric label from the hatmaker reading "Mon MARONNAUD Valon 62, Avenue Bosquet Paris" and a black leather sweatband. A paper label is affixed to the protective plastic at the back of the crown, reading "DILLIER PATAS". Slightly worn.
