1854/82 model Dragoon officer’s sabre by the armourer “Coulaux & Cie in Klingenthal”.
Gilded cast brass mount (remnants) with three secondary branches adorned with a long palmette at their base, on both sides; a dome-knobbed, short-tailed pommel, edged with a laurel leaf frieze. The upper part of the joint arch is decorated with a small flower followed by several leaves in its upper section. The guard ends in a beak decorated with four stylised acanthus leaves and a palmette. Horn tang with brass filigree. Leather strap present. Straight white blade in its natural oil, with two grooves and a flat back, bearing the partially legible mark ‘Coulaux & Cie. Klingenthal’. Nickel-plated steel scabbard with traces of rust-like oxidation, featuring a suspension ring and a symmetrical tip.
