Model 1887 re-enlisted infantry non-commissioned officer’s sword, not bearing the same number.
Mounting in one-piece cast nickel silver with a hilt featuring a flamed grenade in stamped and riveted brass. Guard numbered 5702 and hallmarks on the guard arm. Natural leather scabbard. White three-edged blade with manufacturer’s mark on the heel: “Manufacture d’armes de Châtellerault May 1888, S.O. sword Model 1887”. Steel scabbard with a slight mottled grey patina, featuring a suspension ring, not bearing the same number 5340, and a symmetrical tip.
