Description
Belgium, second half of the 19th century. LEFAUCHEUX "THE GUARDIAN AMERICAN MODEL OF 1878" bolt-action revolver, manufactured in Liège. Calibre approx. 7 mm. Serial number 15. All metal parts with a light grey patina. Octagonal barrel. Frame marked ‘K with star’. Open frame and smooth six-shot cylinder, engraved "THE GUARDIAN AMERICAN MODEL OF 1878", marked "ELG" and "starred K". Loading rod present. Beak-shaped stock with smooth black ebonite grips. Single- and double-action cocking mechanism in working order, crisp and free of play. Barrel interior oxidised with a rust bloom and shallow rifling. Complete. 16 cm (barrel 7 cm). (Signs of wear and minor cosmetic damage, markings on the worn cylinder, fairly good condition).
