Description
Belgium, mid-to-late 19th century. LEFAUCHEUX-system bolt-action revolver, manufactured in Liège. Calibre approx. 7 mm. 6-shot. Serial No. 222. All metal parts in their original bronze finish, lightened in places and with small traces of rust spots. Octagonal rifled barrel with front sight. Frame stamped ‘C’ beneath a star and ‘R’ beneath a crown. The smooth cylinder is stamped "ELG" and "C" beneath a star. Folding trigger. Finely checkered walnut grip panels. Cleaning rod present. Mechanism in working order, single and double action, with a crisp cocking notch and no play. Inside of the barrel is oxidised with shallow rifling. Complete. 18 cm (barrel 8.5 cm). (Signs of wear and minor accidents of use; in fairly good condition).
