Signal Corps, service machete "US ARMY KNIFE LC 14 B".
Handle with leather washers. Single-piece steel guard. Strong blade ending in a hook, with a black phosphated finish and manufacturer’s markings: “WOODMAN’S PAL 280 TRADE MARK - PAT 2335497 VICTOR TOOL CO. - READING, PA”. OD3 cotton canvas sheath, fastening with a "TALON" brand zip. It comes with two booklets stored inside the sheath: “Fighting with the US Army LC-14 Knife” dated 1942 and “Care, Use and Sharpening of the LC-14-B Knife” dated 1942. The whetstone is missing. (Signs of wear and minor accidents of use, in good condition).
Note: This machete, originally designed (1942) for Signal Corps line fitters, was also used as a survival machete by the USMC.
