A fine collection of documents and memorabilia relating to OFLAG VI A in Soest, Westphalia (Germany).
- The book *Oflag VI A* by Marc Blancpain and Morel Fatio. A copy printed on Vélin Reflex paper, with a print run of 1,800 copies; ours bears the number 1131. Published on 15 July 1941 in Wuppertal-Elberfeld.
This copy belonged to Captain GERMAIN of the General Staff of the 42nd Army Corps / Third Army, who was interned at the Bainville-sur-Medon prisoner-of-war camp on 23 June 1940.
Includes a letter from the author, Marc Blancpain, to Captain GERMAIN.
Our book has been adorned with mementoes that belonged to him during his internment at OFLAG VI A, including postcards bearing the purple ‘Oflag VI A’ stamp, “Kriegsgefangenen” notes for 1 and 10 Reichsmarks and Reichspfenning, a certificate from Lieutenant Colonel ROEDERER, Chief of Staff of the 42nd Army Corps / 3rd Army, concerning Captain GERMAIN, interned at the Bainville-sur-Medon prisoner-of-war camp on 23 June 1940, dated 25 June 1940, two silver gelatin prints depicting French officers in captivity (names on the reverse), the menu dated 1 August 1941, a sprig of heather, etc.
