Description
Great Britain, Second World War.
Leaflet dropped over France to inform the population of the agreements of 7 August 1940 between Great Britain and General de Gaulle regarding the creation of the Free French Forces.
21 x 13.5 cm
Unfolded 27 x 21 cm
(Good condition).
Note: Churchill recognised Charles de Gaulle as the leader of the Free French on 28 June 1940. The French general organised armed forces that would become the Free French Forces. Thus, on 7 August 1940, under an agreement recognised by the British, the FFL were not a foreign legion within the British forces, but retained their national and independent character.
