United States, 20th century.
Replica of the 1851 Colt Navy revolver for black powder shooting.
Calibre 36, black powder. 6-shot. Serial number 179852. Made in Italy. Brass frame engraved with arabesques; the barrel and cylinder are black-bronzed. The cylinder is engraved with scenes of naval combat. The left side of the barrel is marked "CALIBRE 36", the right side "MADE IN ITALY" and the underside "BLACK POWDER ONLY". French proof marks “PN” under a crown and “AF”. Functional single-action mechanism with two distinct cocking notches and no play. The inside of the barrel is dirty but has good rifling.
27 cm (barrel 12.5 cm).
