Description
Germany, Second World War. Heer Model 35 dagger, a memento from the Russian front; the scabbard is engraved with "Zur Erinnerung an den Winter 1940/41" and "Elegante Welt". Aluminium pommel and guard. Orange synthetic tang. The back of the guard has been drilled, presumably to hang it on a wall. White blade with small spots in places and manufacturer’s logo “ALCOSO SOLINGEN”. There is a machining mark (drill point) near the logo on the blade. Nickel-plated metal scabbard engraved with the inscription "Zur Erinnerung an den Winter 1940/41 die 'Elegante Welt'" ("In memory of the winter of 1940/41, the 'Elegant World'"). The two straps and the sheath’s suspension rings are missing. In the condition in which it was found, never previously in a collection. (Wear and patina of age, minor imperfections and missing parts. Good condition).
