Description
Germany, Second World War. Standard HJ dagger, manufactured by PUMA in Solingen. Nickel-plated "feinzink" mount. Black ribbed Bakelite scales with the HJ diamond insignia glued on (normally mounted on a spring blade). Blade with a light grey patina and manufacturer’s mark on the heel: “RZM ", "M7/27" (for Pumawerk Lauterjung & Sohn, Solingen) and dated "1939" with "PUMA" and "SOLIGEN GES. GESCHÜTZT" on one side and, on the other side, the motto "BLUT UND EHRE" has been erased. Leather strap missing. Sheath not original to the model, old and added later, made of riveted fawn leather. In the condition found, never previously in a collection. (Signs of wear and tear, traces of sharpening on the blade, As found).
