950°/°° silver chalice, marked with the ‘Rooster’ hallmark (1st grade, 1798–1809) on the bowl and the ‘Old Man’s Head’ hallmark (1819–1838) on the stem and base; the baluster-style stem is ringed with chiselled decoration depicting water leaves, engraved ears of corn and vine shoots; the interior of the bowl is in vermeil.
