VELAY: A rare small beechwood box with a beautiful patina, entirely carved with a composition of twelve rosettes, crosses and fan-shaped motifs, set against a chequered background and wolf’s teeth. The inside of the lid is engraved with two dates: 1721? the letter P and a stylised bird. A piece of 18th-century folk art. 12 x 7.5 x 7.5 cm (two small chips at the ends of one leg)
