A ‘Kpelié’ mask belonging to the ‘Lô’ brotherhood and associated with the ‘Poro’ initiation rites.
This mask depicts a human face surmounted by two ram’s horns and a bird’s head. The face, which is narrow in shape, is characterised by a protruding lower jaw with a labret below, a straight nose, slit eyes and carved protuberances – features characteristic of this type of mask.
