A carved elephant ivory figure (Elephas maximus, Loxodonta africana or Loxodonta cyclotis) depicting
Saint Michael the Archangel vanquishing the devil, mounted on a blackened wooden pedestal with concave sides.
The blade of the sword and the wings are missing; there are natural longitudinal cracks; the arm has been reattached.

Object composed wholly or partly of ivory from proboscidean Elephantidae spp. (Elephas maximus, Loxodonta africana or Loxodonta cyclotis), listed in Appendix I/A of CITES/EU. In accordance with the regulatory provisions in force within the European Union (Regulation (EU) No 2021/2280 of 16 December 2021), the item will be handed over to the purchaser together with its Intra-Community Certificate FR2603700017-K issued by the DREAL on 6 July 2026, accompanied by the expert report drawn up by Mr Pierre Grignon Dumoulin, a court-appointed expert in works of art composed of materials derived from biodiversity and an approved agent. Re-export outside the EU is prohibited, except by state cultural institutions upon presentation of supporting documentation.
