Auguste Nicolas CAIN (1821–1894).
A large, flat, circular bowl in chiselled and gilded bronze, the centre of the base featuring a trophy with hunting accessories, the bowl itself decorated with a frieze of small game birds. The piece rests on four oak-branch feet.
Signed twice in the centre and bearing an engraved inscription: ‘Affectionate souvenir to Dr GÉRY A.CAIN, 1874’.
