Description
A pair of large wall sconces in chiselled bronze, gilded and patinated. The upper section features four vases in the ancient style, the central one topped with a removable flame-shaped snuffer; the lamp arms are in the form of foliage-entwined volutes accented with laurel toruses. The central section is decorated with a relief of kneeling Atlantean cupids in the centre of a stylised shell resting on a stepped alabaster base adorned with garlands of flowers, a rosette and a frieze of stylised godrons. The whole rests on six small spindle-shaped feet with a beaded band.
