A large potpourri jar in polychrome porcelain enhanced with gold. The lid handle is in the shape of a seated cupid holding a garland of flowers; all sides are decorated with scenes of lively village festivals. The chiselled bronze mount features an openwork frieze of interlacing patterns; the handles are in the shape of lion’s muzzles; the pedestal is adorned with foliage and laurel wreaths. The whole rests on a bevelled base.
