Description
A white marble and bronze mantelpiece with two patinas. The clock is decorated with an antique-style female allegory seated and leaning against the movement; the circular white-enamelled dial features blue Roman numerals for the hours and black Arabic numerals for the minutes, signed ‘RENARD’ in Rouen. The oval base, with a moulded edge and stepped sections, is highlighted by a gilded moulding and rests on four spindle-shaped feet.
The pair of five-armed candelabra with foliage motifs; the central bowl is adorned with a floral snuffer. The shaft is in the form of an Atlantean cupid in the round, seated upon rocky mounds; the bases are fluted columns with notches.
Louis XVI style, second half of the 19th century.
