A chiselled and gilded bronze clock depicting Fame unveiling the world. The upper section is decorated with a globe beneath a drapery and set against a radiating motif; on the right, a winged woman dressed in ancient style holding a shell, and on the left, a brazier perched on a pedestal, in the centre, a pillar incorporating a circular guilloché dial marked with Roman numerals for the hours, embellished with applied floral wreaths, ribbons and cornucopias. The whole rests on a rectangular-sectioned base with a stepped profile, decorated with a frieze depicting the chariot of Venus, and finished with four feet in the form of foliage-decorated volutes.
