Description
JAPAN – Edo period (1603–1868), early 19th century Hexagonal bronze planter with a brown patina, decorated in relief with two facing dragons forming a floral medallion against a background of archaic motifs. The rims are adorned with Greek friezes, and the feet are cloud-shaped. On the reverse, the mark ‘Dai Nihon Bunsei nen Seimin chu’ (made by Seimin during the Bunsei era (1818–1830) in Japan). Height: 17 cm – Diameter: 24.5 cm
