Description
2 patinated terracotta figurines. Scale-down reproductions of the warriors from the Xi’an Army. The set comprises a standing officer clad in armour (41 x 14 x 9 cm) and a kneeling archer (31 x 12 x 11 cm). Accessories missing. The figurines feature a dark grey patina with hints of light-coloured dust in the recesses to imitate age, and rest on plinths bearing inscriptions in Chinese characters engraved in relief.
Condition: dusty, and a small, clearly visible chip on the breastplate of the standing warrior, revealing the light-coloured terracotta beneath the patina.
