A set of six fans and frames dating from the 19th and early 20th centuries, comprising: A fan with an openwork mother-of-pearl frame and stone rivets, the double-sided fan leaf painted with mythological and pastoral scenes (18 ribs, in good working condition); a fan with a plain mother-of-pearl frame, the blade painted with an allegorical scene signed A. Laurence (16 ribs, one plume missing, some wear and tear); two fans with openwork or carved wooden frames and plain gold-coloured silk panels (10 ribs each; one in good condition with a tufted tassel, the other worn with an incomplete rivet); a fan with a mother-of-pearl centre and black ostrich feathers (18 ribs, heavily damaged); and a bone and wood frame with gilded floral decoration (16 ribs, without the fan head).
