Folding fan, c. 1900. Black lacquered wooden frame. Black silk panel painted in gouache on the front with a polychrome iris, signed M. Douliot, and on the reverse with a large interlaced ‘VM’ monogram framed by foliage. In good overall condition, with slight flaking and wear to the paint on the reverse. Preserved in a case from Maison Rebours in Paris. 16 ribs (14 strands and 2 plumes).
