A pair of lidded vases in the ‘ginger pot’ style, globular in shape and made of porcelain, decorated with a polychrome design in the ‘Famille Rose’ colour scheme. The body depicts a classic, joyful scene of children playing in a garden, a traditional Chinese motif symbolising prosperity and a happy family. The young boys, dressed in colourful tunics, are playing near a fence in the shade of a tree. Topped with their original bud-shaped fretel lids, these two unmarked pieces are enhanced by their circular, carved and openwork wooden plinths.
