Description
A pair of polychrome porcelain-covered vases feature a lively design in the ‘Famille Rose’ style, a 20th-century Asian decorative tradition.
The body of the vase depicts a large gathering of dignitaries and scholars in pastel-coloured tunics (pink, yellow, blue), assembled in a pavilion around a central figure seated at a table. The composition is framed by a geometric frieze of lambrequins at the base. Topped with their original lids, embellished with a blue fretel in the shape of a bud, these unmarked pieces are displayed on circular, stained wooden plinths.
Dimensions: H. 25 cm, D. 17 cm (excluding plinths)
Condition: Appears to be in good overall condition. Normal signs of wear on the plinths.
