Description
A set of 168 lapel badges, known as ‘pucelles’, made of brass-plated, silver-plated and enamelled metal. This collection pays remarkable tribute to aviation and airport security services. It includes a fine selection of badges from Aéroports de Paris, including early designs from Orly Airport. Also included is a set from the Landes Test Centre (CEL). The collection is rounded off by various municipal badges, including an old badge from Thouarcé. Overall condition: good, with normal signs of wear and tear. Many badges are glued to their backing.
Provenance: The Albert Giraud Collection, considered to be the largest collection of fire service badges in France (formerly housed in the museum at Saint-Vincent-sur-Graon).
