Set of four military headgear plates. Second Empire period. Stamped brass plates comprising: A shako badge for an officer of the line infantry (29th Regiment). The crowned imperial eagle rests upon an openwork globe, with the regiment’s number superimposed on Jupiter’s thunderbolt. Dimensions: 11 x 14 cm. A shako badge for a line infantry officer (37th Regiment). Same design. Dimensions: 10 x 12 cm. An artillery headgear badge. The eagle rests on a globe supported by two crossed cannons. Dimensions: 10.5 x 11 cm. A shako badge for an officer of the 1st Marine Infantry Regiment. The crowned imperial eagle rests on an openwork globe bearing the numeral ‘1’ superimposed on a naval anchor and framed by oak and laurel branches. Dimensions: 10 x 10.5 cm.
