Officer’s cap badge from the 2nd Grenadier Regiment of the Imperial Guard. Model 1854, Second Empire period. Stamped brass badge depicting the crowned imperial eagle clutching Jupiter’s thunderbolt, set against a background of a radiant sun. The base is adorned with the openwork numeral ‘2’. Dimensions: 15.5 x 15.5 cm. Condition: generally good, with a fine patina of age; mounting tabs present on the reverse.
