Column-head sabre with a cock’s head hilt. Revolution – Consulate period.
One-piece cast brass mount. Chiselled cock’s head hilt. Thick crossguard adorned in the centre with a lion’s muzzle, ending in two quillons shaped as monster heads. Curved blade with hollow edges, engraved on its first third with a motif of musical instruments and foliage, bearing the initials ‘A.W.’. The back of the blade is signed by the ‘Klingenthal’ Manufactory. Brass scabbard with two large black leather gussets, fitted with two loop rings.
Overall length: 105 cm (103 cm without scabbard).
Condition: signs of wear, surface oxidation on the blade, leather on the gussets has a patina.
