PARIS, early 19th century.
A pair of spindle-shaped vases with straight handles, in porcelain, with polychrome decoration within reserved areas: a Vestal Virgin sacrificing jewellery, another making an offering to Mercury, a waterfall, and a lively landscape scene featuring a bridge. Shiny gold ground. One neck has been restored; one handle is missing.
34.5 cm including the veined red marble plinths.
