First edition, printed in a run of 2,044 copies; no. H.6 of the 69 head copies on Holland van Gelder paper, with reproductions of three previously unpublished documents. 2 fold-out maps. A very fine copy on Holland paper, enhanced by an AUTOGRAPHED DEDICATION by General de Gaulle to Georges Marquet, dated 9 November 1954, “in memory of the great ordeal” on the first volume and the General’s signature on the half-title page of each of the other two volumes (dated 4 October 1956 and 16 November 1959).
