PALLAS (Pierre-Simon). A Journey through Several Provinces of the Russian Empire and Northern Asia. Translated from the German by C. Gauthier de La Peyronie. New edition, revised and enriched with notes by Messrs Lamarck [...] Langlès [...] Paris, Maradan, Year II. 8 volumes of text in-8 and a small folio atlas, in temporary cardboard binding, spines re-bound with modern title labels. Volume 8 (Appendix) is of a slightly smaller format, trimmed, in a modern imitation cardboard binding, without a title label. The atlas contains 107 (out of 108) engraved plates, including a large fold-out map of Russia, various maps and plans, costumes, and a large number of botanical plates. The second plate is missing. Foxing, a water stain in the centre of the plates, becoming increasingly pronounced towards the end, from plate 78 onwards.
