Amsterdam, Desbordes, 1685. 2 volumes in one in-12 (148 x 93 mm), red Jansenist morocco, spine with five raised bands, gilt fillet on the edges, interior lace, gilt edges on marbled paper (19th-century binding). First collected edition and first illustrated edition. Three printings appeared in the same year; this copy is from the first printing, in accordance with the information provided by various bibliographers. Title-frontispiece and 58 half-page vignettes engraved by Romain de Hooghe. A very fine copy of the first print run, formerly washed and pasted.
