Paris, Laporte, 1775–1783 [1795]. 4 volumes in-4, marbled calfskin, plain decorated spine, title and volume number labels in red morocco (contemporary binding). Scuffs and wear. Edition illustrated with a frontispiece portrait and 92 separate plates: 46 by Cochin and 46 taken from Baskerville’s 1773 Italian edition, including 2 redrawn by Moreau. Slight scattered foxing; traces of water damage in the margins of the 2nd and 3rd volumes. Pinpricks around the borders of certain engravings. (Cohen 98.)
