Essay by Marc FUMAROLI [...] “Alessandro Striggio’s *L’Orfeo* and the Italian quest for the music of antiquity.” n.p., Les Amis du livre contemporain, 2001. Large quarto in folio format, printed cover with gilded edges, in the publisher’s slipcase containing, at the end, two CDs of a recording of the opera by the Concentus Musicus Wien conducted by Nikolaus Harnoncourt (Dermont-Duval workshop). Original colour lithographs by J.-P. Chambas. Printed in an edition of 210 copies on Rives vellum; No. 91 of the 180 reserved for members, in this case for Mrs Dominique Barbier, enriched with 8 menus illustrated by J.-P. Chambas, signed and numbered in pencil, one of which bears a long ‘E.A.S.’ inscription from the artist to Dominique Barbier.
