[DARAGNÈS (Jean-Gabriel) & CLAUDEL (Paul)]. This is followed by the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ according to the four Gospels. With a translation of Psalm XXI by Paul Claudel and engravings by Daragnès. Paris, Daragnès, 1945. Folio-sized book in havana-coloured box, smooth spine, gilt title, large cross design in reserve highlighted by dark brown box strips against a background of radiating gilt fillets, gilt edges, interior framing of four gilt fillets and a cream morocco strip, red silk lining and endpapers, illustrated cover and spine preserved, housed in a light brown half-calf slipcase with flaps, plain spine, and a box with raised edges (H. Lapersonne). Woodcuts in the text by Daragnès. Printed in an edition of 140 copies, numbered and signed by the artist; no. 64 of 100 on Rives vellum. A very fine copy of this rare work.
