In-8, brown shagreen, spine with four raised bands, author’s name and title in gold, gilt headband, purple morocco band as an inner frame, lining and endpapers in multicoloured striped silk, cover and spine preserved, in a slipcase with flaps. Spine slightly sun-faded. Frontispiece, title vignette, 2 out-of-text plates and 81 illustrations in the volume by Dignimont, all in stencil colour. Print run of 1,000 copies (+65 hc); no. 295 of 892 on Rives paper.
