In-4, royal blue morocco, ribbed spine, gilt title, date at the tail, gilt edges on endpapers, interior framing in cream morocco with a trellis design and scattered gilt fleurons within a border of gilt fillets and garland, original copperplate inserted into the front endpaper, royal blue rep endpapers, cover and spine preserved, in a box with flaps (Ch. Lanoé, designed by R. D.).
10 original etchings by Drian.
Print run of 595 copies; No. VII of the 10 special copies on antique Japanese paper, comprising a triple set of etchings, original drawings and sketches by the artist; here, 4 fine ORIGINAL DRAWINGS, signed, including 3 in charcoal and one in graphite and red chalk, the proofs of the etchings and the gilt plates, here enriched with 7 rejected plates.
Sun-faded spine, otherwise a very fine copy in a beautiful lined binding by Ch. Lanoé. Ex-libris bearing the motto ‘Hic liber est meus’ (Laurent Meeûs), gilded on turquoise marbled paper.
