Fêtes galantes. Paris, Ambroise Vollard, 1928. In-4, pink morocco, beautifully stylised binding with gilt fillets and red morocco bands on the covers and spine, spine with four raised bands bearing the author’s name and title in gold, gilt edges, interior framing of double broad gilt lines and a red morocco strip, lining and endpapers in Parma moiré, cover and spine preserved, housed in a green half-moroquin slipcase with flaps and a box with raised edges (Canape and Corriez).
14 original etchings as inserts and 42 compositions within the text by Pierre Laprade.
Print run of 375 copies; no. 29 of the 55 head copies on Japanese paper with a set of original etchings on Rives vellum (the engravings, in colour, in the Rives vellum copies were printed in black in the Japanese paper copies, which will also contain a set of 22 colour medallions on Rives vellum), monogrammed by the artist.
A few foxing spots, but otherwise a very fine copy in a delightful binding by Canape and Corriez.
