Large 8vo, red morocco, ribbed spine, gilt title, date at the foot, framed by double gilt lines and a strip of brown morocco on the covers and the spine panels, blind-stamped lines on the edges, fourfold gilt fillet framing the inner covers with gilt fleurons and green morocco mosaics at the corners, gilt edges, green and brown brocaded silk endpapers and lining, cover and spine preserved, in a box with flaps (Conil-Septier). First illustrated edition: 1 vignette on the title page, 6 headpieces, 6 tailpieces and 13 plates, by E. Malassis. Printed in a run of 400 copies; a personalised copy (printed for Mr Victor Falaise) on vellum with a black-and-white suite and a note. A very fine copy in a beautiful signed binding.
