Revue des Modes, Galerie de Mœurs, Album des Salons (1830–1833) A set of 6 volumes, containing a total of 211 colour fashion plates, some of which are signed by Gavarni: - 1830 (2nd year, Volume 1): 344 pp. of text, one double-page plate of music, 23 engraved and watercoloured fashion plates and 2 plates of carriages in black. In-8, red half-maroquin with corner caps, plain decorated spine, gilt garland on the covers, gilt edges (contemporary binding). A few small foxing spots; some plates slightly browned. - 1831 (3rd year, Volume Six and the beginning of Volume Seven): 336–32 pp. of text, 17 plates of fashion engravings and watercolours (and a few black-and-white plates outside the main text, featuring carriages, views, figures, etc.) In-8, brown half-calf with small corners, decorated ribbed spine (contemporary binding). Upper cap torn off, spine faded, joints worn, a few small scuffs. - 1831–early 1832, collection of loose plates, without text: 52 engraved and watercoloured plates, including 16 signed by GAVARNI. 8vo in brown half-calf, smooth spine (contemporary binding). Spine damaged. A few foxing spots. - 1832–1833, 3 volumes, 8vo, in brown sheepskin, plain decorated spine (contemporary binding). Scuffing and scabs. A few stains or foxing spots. I. pp. 3–320 (pp. 1–2 missing), 300 pp., 32 engraved and watercoloured plates (the first – no. 189 – unmounted with poorly cut inner margin), followed by nos. 202–237 (including an unnumbered plate of disguises); plates 219, 223, 232, 233 and 236 are missing; plate 231 is torn and half missing; II. pp. 5–332 (pp. 1–4 missing), 344 pp., 37 engraved and watercoloured plates nos. 239–274 (including an unmarked engraving by Gavarni, “A Conversation””), pp. 295–296 missing, a few faint water stains. III. 318–[1]–339–[1] pp., 38 engraved and watercoloured plates, nos. 275–311 (including one uncatalogued plate depicting a disguise) + 12 plates added as loose leaves (312, 326, 338–347).
