Oblong quarto (191 x 258 cm), comprising 200 pp. of notated arias and [3] ff. of tables, all carefully handwritten in brown ink. Blank leaves removed. Marbled calfskin, decorated ribbed spine, title page (contemporary binding). Head, mouth and corners worn. Interior in very good condition. Of particular note among these numerous tunes is the one on page 181, adapted from Jean de La Fontaine’s epitaph ‘To the Sluggard’ (‘Jean went away as he had come […]’).
