CHAGALL (Marc). Bible. Paris, Verve, 1956. Large quarto in green sheepskin, plain spine, polychrome cut-out leather decoration on the front cover, in a slipcase with flaps (amateur binding). Spine worn and partially detached, joints split. This volume forms Volume VIII (Nos. 33 and 34) of the journal *Verve*. The illustrations comprise 18 original colour lithographs (cover, frontispiece, illustrated title page, and 15 plates), 12 black-and-white lithographs, and 105 black-and-white illustrations, “the complete heliogravure reproduction of the 105 plates etched by Marc CHAGALL between 1930 and 1955 to illustrate the Bible.
