Comprising 42 plates, based on the original drawings by Charles Monnet, Painter to the former Academy. And a general description of the muscles by Tanude, a surgeon and anatomist from Montpellier. Paris, Jean, [1795]. Folio volume of 42 intaglio-engraved plates, including the title page. Fawn half-basane, modern binding signed by S. Hugon de Scoeux. Spine badly damaged with loss. A few plates discoloured. A large and beautiful ex-libris by Paul Fontaine, engraved by Geo Colucci in 1927, bearing an E.A.S. dedicated to his niece Martine Fontaine “on the day of her success at the École des Arts Décoratifs”.
