½ light calf, signed BELZ NIÉDRÉE, spine with decorated raised bands, black title labels, red volume numbers, gilt heads. A fine copy.
This little-known 16th-century Gascon poet was a friend of Montaigne and Du Bartas. According to Dezeimeris, he is the foremost of the second-tier poets.
Millanges published a first edition of his poems in 1576 (Labadie 1778).
