[QUERELLES, Chevalier de] Hero and Leander, a new poem in three cantos, translated from the Greek, based on a manuscript found at Castro, to which historical notes have been appended. Paris, Didot aîné, Year IX (1801). In-4; illustrated with a frontispiece and 8 colour engravings drawn and engraved by P. L. DEBUCOURT. ½ red calfskin with period corners, title and gilt fillet on a smooth spine. A fine copy. Courboin says of Philibert-Louis Debucourt: ‘the most extraordinary colour painter and engraver who has ever lived’.
